Holly Hagens, founder of Scout Venture Partners, has over twelve years of life science venture capital investment experience. She worked previously at AEA Investors in New York City where she led both growth equity and buyout investment for the firm's life science practice. Prior to AEA, Holly was a Kauffman Fellow at Domain Associates, a venture capital firm focused on early stage life science investments. Prior to her selection as a Kauffman Fellow, Ms. Hagens also worked at Apax Partners (formerly Patricof & Co. Ventures) as a member of their healthcare team, as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group and as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley. Ms. Hagens received an MBA in healthcare systems and entrepreneurial management from The Wharton School, where she was awarded a Kaiser Foundation Scholarship. Ms. Hagens earned her BA in economics and international commerce from Brown University, where she was a four-year varsity soccer player.

During the course of her venture investment career, Ms. Hagens has been involved with a broad range of successful life science companies, including Nanostream, NuVasive, Northstar Neuroscience, Orquis Medical, Pharmion, and Xcel Pharmaceuticals among others. She has been involved in venture investments totaling over $100 million of equity capital, including two of the largest medical device venture deals ever completed.
